Dell inspiron 1564 display problems

Feb 7, 2014 5:23PM PST

Hi ,

I have a dell inspiron 1564 laptop with windows 8 x64. few days ago I tried to turn it on, once the windows came up ( after the windows logo shows ) I got grey/black screen. here :

I tried to boot ubuntu using live usb, It boots and I can see the HD content but after 1-2 minutes I get the same grey screen.

I think it is hardware issue, tried to vent the RAM + FAN but still the same ..

Try a deep cleaning (you as a PC tech would know this, or stay inside your comfort zone) as well as new heat sink compound. Then try again. If that fails it's likely time for a new motherboard.

Hi,
Laptop 5 to 10 min off then you start and press f8 button regular then open new windows and select safe mode and follow instruction. When open windows safe mode then not graphic come because safe mode not support graphic so don`t wary. If your windows open safe mode then it means your windows or hardware ok and running. Then after you restart laptop and try it normal mode open windows if open then ok or if not ok then return open safe mode and windows back date choose and follow reset windows.

Thanks..
