Dell Inspiron 1545 Resolution Issue

So normally the icons are very clean and well defined.

But when I accidentally press the fn key that switches between the internal monitor and the external monitor, the icons turn very fuzzy like this. http://ploader.net/files/e49c64828cebfffb862c4c1087bf66c0.bmp
The only way for me to fix this is by restarting the computer which is troublesome. Please and Thank you.
