Strangely enough, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff551332%28v=vs.85%29.aspx shows ataport to be related to the IDE port. That is the hard disk, or the CD or the DVD (the non SATA ones).
Replaced a damaged screen in a dell Inspiron 1525 with a screen from another like device. Device gets a blue screen after 10 - 15 mins due to an ataport error. Assume I need to update the video driver, but can't find a windows 7 compatible version.
