Just received my first ever notebook, a Dell Inspiron 1520, very excited.
After charging it a few hours I pressed the Power button, with the ac adapter still connected, and nothing happened.
With the help of the Dell helpdesk I went through a few troubleshooting steps, power on/off - with and without the adepter, with battery removed, with RAM removed etc.
No luck, Dell helpdesk is sending a technician over 2morrow.
My main question is - should I demand another brand new notebook?
Since the computer has never worked, is it a reasonable demand?
Does this happen often with Dell notebooks?
