hi,
i myself own the sony a-series notebook (A150), and let me tell you, it is the best notebook ever! yes, you do sacrifice a few ports (such as parallel and serial which are not useful anyways) on the sony, but just with the screen, ITS ENOUGH! the screen, oh my, just simply outstanding!!! that's why i chose my sony. also, performance wise, my sony's extremely fast and never let me down. but in ur case, if ur a screen enthusiast such as me, get the sony, otherwise, for extra features (but with a few screen problems which i've heard on a few reviews on dell 9300) get the dells.

We are looking for a desktop replacement to be used mainly for internet surfing, MP3 transfers/CD burning, moderate photo editing, some video editing, and your very basic home-office functions. I keep it in the kitchen as a 'quick reference' type PC.
I've done research on the above 3 models and am hoping anyone has insight on which might be better for what I aim to use it for. I really like the idea of the 17" Sony Xbrite (anyone have any experience with them?) but always hear great things about Dell - and can get a 730 M processor over Sony's 725 for the same $$. Finally, I also gave the FS series a glance. Smaller screens- but faster processor if Sony builds the better 'product'.
Any helpful hints would be great - We have always looked to purchase the more 'secure'// dependable type equipment, even if it means a bit less up front for the $$$ - but there are so many options out there, it can be overwhelming!
