There are others but this is how I access dead laptop drives all too often.
The usual issues with such and old 17 inch laptop are legend. At close to 5 years old the laptop power jack is often in need of replacement but techs rarely can do that today. Clients have become too litigious.

Hi, I have a inpirion 1750, recently the power has been going in and out so I purchased a new battery. It worked yesterday but now the same problem. The front light isn't coming on when I plugin, and I'm getting nothing from power button. My adapter is fine, already tested that. Can anyone help, I just want my wedding photos off this thing.
