Question

Dell display problem

Jun 26, 2015 9:52AM PDT

Please could anyone help. My Dell inspiring M501r laptop has got a display problem.
When I switch it on it boots up ok but the display is all mixed up and fuzzy. This is the same when I plug into an external monitor.
If I leave it on I can move the mouse pointer across the screen and it is like an eraser getting rid of all the rubbish on screen and the screen then clears to normal. It is so annoying.. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Answer
No back story.

I take it did this since day one. Call Dell and follow their directions AFTER you backup your suff a few times. They'll have you do the factory restore and if that doesn't clear it up, arrange for repair. Repair, swaps, etc vary on your service agreement and country. I can't guess which method they'll use.

Hi thanks for the reply.
This has just started happening recently and my warranty has expired and I can't afford to pay to get it fixed..
Thanks....

Then do what they usually ask.

Again, we only lose what we don't backup.

Then restore to factory condition. If the hardware is fine, it will start working again and you learn to not update drivers or such again.
