dell dimension e 310 hard drive problems

Got a problem need help? Own Dell Dimension e310 and dell Inspiron 530, dell e310 hard drive crash, ordered a new one from dell, installed it nothing on it, installed windows XP pro, Boots up to windows xp, cant get online, no modem found, cant play dvd video card not found, computer wont/cant find modem or video card, called dell, they said its already installed on your computer, after several calls to dell they said restore is already installed a partition and load the drivers, computer will not let me install drivers states they are not the right file, no hardware found, cant create a dsr partition. Can I use Acronis Drive Image to do a drive image of the Inspiron and put it in the e310, and will it find it? Been messing with it for about 5 months, should I just use it as a door stop? Stumped?
