Dell Dimension 8200 Sound Issue

Nov 23, 2004 4:58PM PST

I have been having sound issues with my Dell 8200 computer running windows xp after I did a system repair using the windows disc. My sound is low even after I have truned the sound all the way up. I have a SoundBlaster sound card I have reinstalled all of the software and all of the drivers and I thought everything was going well but?.. I was at a site trying to get my local news feeds it open up in windows media player but when I tried to turn up the sound it was still very low. I turned it all the way up and still low. Does anyone have any ideas to what my problem could be?

Have you check all of your settings? Go to the control panel then click on sounds. Check the volume levels and increase as needed.

On my PC, I have the MusicMatch program, I notice that the volume on this application controls all other application volumes on my PC.

This might be the program that you need to check out in order to adjust the volume on your pc.

Good Luck

my stepson has a HP which has 2 plugs for speakers. one is for amplified speakers and the other is for nonamplified. not sure if dell has this kind of configuration or not. it does have the 2 plugs make sure you are using the right plug. your pc documentation tell you if it has this and which to use. another thing that comes to mind is that older amplified pc speakers were powered by batteries. if so then dead batteries are the suspect.
