in a flash; it can not only take out the PSU, but pretty much all of the components in your computer. Meaning that it could have killed your motherboard, hard-drive, memory...everything.
Sorry, not the answer you were looking for.
A little bit ago lightning struck my house blowing out the power supply, but as of recently I decided to get a new power supply and see if the computer would work. It turns on, but I needed to re-download Windows XP. The only problem is that when I get to a certain point in the downloading process where it asks me to pick a partition to install it says this "(Setup cannot acces this disk.)" not allowing me to pick something to pick. So when I press enter to install an error message pops up saying "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer." and there is more telling me to enter safe mode to disable stuff, but I cannot get the point where I can choose safe mode because when I turn my computer on it says it can't find anything to boot. Is it possible that more than just my power supply was effected or is there something I can do.
