For example, most folk will get out some laptop with VGA and test this out. Others may get out the Volt meter to see if the VGA detect pin is high or low. More at link.

So if the loads are not just right, some cards don't enable the outputs.

Hi,
I am a newby here but hope there is some wisdom out there. Here is my problem. I have a Infocus Projector in my gameroom. It is connected to a JVC 5 device component switch. I have cable box, playstation, DVD etc and they work just fine, hi-def and all. I wanted to be able to use the projector as a monitor when playing Itunes or other 'jukebox' type programs. I purchased a VGA to component cable and ran straight from computer to an open spot on my switch which I know works. i could not get an image. I later tried another converter cable which took VGA to composite and or S-Video which my switch also can handle. it would npt work that way either.
Do I need a better video card or could there possibly be some different settings I need to use?
I am certain the switch, the cables, etc are fine.
Many Thanks!!
