Dell Delay Nightmare

I ordered a Dell SP2309W 23 inch Flat Panel Monitor on Dec. 21, 2009 and as a Christmas gift and replacment of a previous Dell monitor that died. I was told that it would ship within 24-48 hrs with 3-5 to ship. It did not arrive and was never shipped. After getting bounced around in Customer Service in India and disconnected several times, I was forwarded to the return department for a monitor I had not received. I spoke with a Manager there who agreed to expedite the order and provide 2 day shipping. He said that I would received the monitor no later the Dec. 28th, 2009. It did not arrive and was never shipped. The estimated delivery date was then pushed back to Jan. 4, 2010.

I then spoke with a salesperson in the US who said he found the montior in a warehouse in my city and that he would have it shipped within 24 hrs and delivered within 3 days. He gave me his name and extension. It did not arrive and was never shipped. Back to CS in India where I was given the standard "unexpected delay". I spoke with a Manager who told me the name and phone extension which I was previously given did not exist. The estimated delivery date was changed to Jan. 7, 2010, then again to Jan. 12, 2010 and once more to the Jan. 14, 2010.

I spoke to another salesperson who said that he could get me the same monitor by Jan. 13, 2010 if I paid the difference between the sales price that I paid and the current price. At this point I gave up and called CS in India to cancel the order. The CS rep convinced me to speak with another salesperson and try one more time to find a different monitor. That salesperson said that he found a Dell 23 Inch Flat Panel Display,P2310H, OptiPlex Precision,Latitude and Enterprise in the warehouse in my city and that he could get it shipped with 24-48 hrs with next day shipping. So I purchased it at a higher price on Jan. 12, 2010 with an est. delivery date of Jan. 18, 2010. It did not arrive and was not shipped. The est. delivery date was changed to Jan. 29, 2010.

I spoke to the return dept again and was told that the monitor would be shipped on Jan. 15. When it wasn't I spoke to CS in India again who said that there were absolutely no 23 inch monitors in inventory anywhere. After multiple emails to the salesperson, he called me and said that he would figure what could be done and call back. He never called back and hasn't returned subsequent emails. Neither monitor ever moved pass the "In Production" status.

Four weeks of delays with no monitor to use, lied to, spoken to rudely and hung up on....I've been a long time Dell customer and bought two previous monitors from them which arrived quickly. This has been an absolute nightmare.

Is there anyone I can contact in the US or anything I can do?

Do you have a Best Buy near you? Honestly, I would just find a local store and go buy it.

Wasn't thrilled with the selection but the one I wanted required a new PCI card. The one I ordered from Dell didn't. I was ready to cancel the order anyway. Yet another person, this time manager convinced me to buy another different monitor saying that it would ship immediately and was in inventory. It hasn't shipped yet.

3 monitors, 30 days, no delivery.
