Dell D600 latitude laptop batery voltage??

Dell have two different voltages,11.1 and 14.8 volt for their D600 latitude laptop.
Both battery are identical except for the voltage.
I bought a 14.8 when i needed a 11.1volt.
Is there a diode that regulates the voltage does it matter ?

Would not bother me except we are on a remote farm and the whole thing is a nuisance.
Help?

And isn't the D600 a series? As such you may have to post the model numbers (part numbers too) of each part to get the best and fastest answer.

I would NOT use the wrong battery.
