DELL D DOCK PD01X 5U184 internal DVD drive

Oct 15, 2010 2:02AM PDT

When you plug in your laptop (mine is a D410) to this dock, is the DVD in the dock connected to the laptop internally or just USB?
If anyone knows the the answer to this, I would sure appreciate it.

What about a PCMCIA to Sata with a Sata CD-ROM?

Haven't seen that card.

PCMCIA is that old thing with USB 1.x ports and not much better on speed.

It is possible that PC-CARD (that newer faster card in the same mechanical size) does have such but I found OS support to be iffy. Try newegg.com and amazon.com
