Dell Customer service

Hi, I wish to buy a Dell laptop. Yet in light of Dell's customer service history I feel I might be better looking elsewhere.
My question is what assurances do I have that Dell will right a wrong under warranty and not jack me around?

I'm surrounded by Dells at the office. There has never been an issue like you read in forums BUT and this is a big one, we know where support begins and ends. Some want Dell to correct a Microsoft OS issue or repair a crashed OS.

Would that upset you if they can't do that?

And what company does this?

I asked what company does that and you told them.

There are other vertical systems that are noteworthy. Not so much computers but systems. I'm thinking those PS2/3, 360s and such.

None whatsoever, but at the same time, it's not like any other company is going to be any better. The only possible exception might be Apple, since they're a vertical supplier. They make the machines AND the OS that go on them, but that OS isn't for everyone.

You are just kind of stuck in a situation where you have to pick the least bad option.
