Dell cartridges

Have A960 Dell printer that works fine. But....
Where can "you" get good prices for the cartridges (?) as they are expensive. Who makes the printer for Dell?

That printer is made by Lexmark. The cart is #82 Black and #83 color, however, they will not fit your printer as the have a different top.
You have three alternatives - modify your printer to accept both Dell and Lexmark carts as I have, or refill the carts with ink for lex 82 & 83s, or cut the tops off your Dell carts and switch them with The Lex 83 & 83 carts.

The Dell cartridge and the Lexmark 82 are different in that the Dell has a notch offset to the left, while the Lexmark has the notch in the centre. The Notch corresponds to the location of a pin on the hold-down tab.

The question I have is: if i remove the pin can i then use the Lexmark cartridge, or is the pin necessary for correct function?
