Dell Axim as ebook reader?

Dec 2, 2009 1:10AM PST

I have an old Dell Axim x30 and was wondering if I could use it as an ebook reader? I installed Adobe Reader for Pocket PC 2.0, and I can't get it to reflow, so I have to keep scrolling back and forth. Is there any pdf reader software that will do this? Would it be better to download books in another format? I am using Feedbooks.com which will also download in Mobipocket, which is supposed to be compatible with Windows Mobile pocket pc. I'd appreciate any advice I can get.

That's a common complaint.

There appears to be no fix short of converting content to HTML pages so it reflows like a web page.

Your post made me think about how a flat head screwdriver can double as a chisel but doesn't work too well as such. Maybe a real ebook reader is the answer?

Mobipocket works

Thanks for the response, but I ended up answering my own question. I downloaded Mobipocket, and it works great. The book I already had in PDF opened up with no problem. I can re-size the text to whatever is comfortable, and it all fits within the screen. Obviously, it's not the ideal e-reader, but I can't afford a real one, and I found a use for my pocket pc!
One little issue - it changes the number of pages to reflect what actually is on the screen, so a 200 page book is now 1800 pages, but that doesn't really bother me.
