Question

Dell 946 MFP driver for Mac OS 10.6

Sep 1, 2011 9:36AM PDT

Dell doesn't have a Mac OS driver for the Dell 946 MFP. I have heard you can get around this by installing a driver for another printer, eg. Lexmark. But which one and how. I am using a Mac Air with Snow Leopard 10.6 installed.

Not enough information

I had to do a lot of research. There are no GIMP drivers in my MAC OSX. Looked online and learnt that they are now called Gutenprint! On my Mac there are dozens, but I have no idea which to use. Went to the Gutenprint website and downloaded the latest version 5.2.7 At this stage I am still trying to work out which to use. My Mac can see the printer, but is not responding to the request to print. Do you know if I have to work through all the drivers, or is there a simpler way? If I come up with the answer, I'll repost, but I am hoping someone might have a quick answer for me.
