you open your notebook, remove the heat pipe system, apply some AS5, re seat the heat pipe, and see if that makes a difference. should be in the manual or online about how to open it.
i would recommend looking around the dell sections in notebookforums.com. just register, and ask this question and i gurantee that you will get good replies.
My dell 8600 has heat issues and I'm looking to modify my computer to lower the temps. I've purchased a laptop cooler but I cannot carry this around everywhere. I've scanned the internet and found several individuals who have modified there system with cooper - artic silver - to replace dell "cheap" heat sink. I'm looking for instrucations on how to do this. Anyone have any ideas? thanks in advance!
