You would have to remove all spinning media drives to push that up past 5.9. Even so, it should be a great performer but for those that want better Windows scores you have to nod and tell them to replace the old drive too.

Hi everyone
I literally just got my 17R SE 7720 with 2x 750gb 7200rpm drives and 32gb mSata SSD and I'm wondering if there is a better way to configure the drives to get the best performance possible. I'm surprised to see the Win Experience Index Disk Transfer Rate as only 5.9. I've bought this behemoth as my desktop replacement, and I love it apart from what I perceive is poor disk performance. Why? Because my 6 year old desktop with the 1st gen single core AMD64 3400 CPU (albeit fitted with a more recent 7200rpm drive) also manages 5.9. How can this be?! I don't know much about these things (prob apparent by now!) but should the mSATA be playing a more active role? One thing I will say is it starts up from standby v.quickly, which is great of course.
All help appreciated on how to best configure the system for performance, or can RAID give me my cake'n'eat it for contingency/performance??
Cheers
