Deletion in My Pictures

by bilmo / October 30, 2004 3:36 AM PDT

I have downloaded pictures from a flash card into my pictures. When I attempt to delete several pictures at once a copy of the image is made each time I delete it. I have up to six copies of the same image. I have to individually delete each image to make it permanent. What can I do. I am using XP Profesional and XP Small business on a dell 4100 with 80 GB hard disk and 384 memory. Help and thanks

Holding the control key while selecting several images can cause this problem. I've found that if I do this more slowly and carefully, it is not a problem.

Your exact steps for performing such action?

click EDIT/SELECT ALL, or CTRL/A, I have found that when you use the the method you are using you have to be very careful not to move the mouse pointer when making a selection as it will make copies, go slow and it will work ok.
