Deleting Uninstalled App

Jun 11, 2010 4:39PM PDT

I was trying to install an application and something went weird and the app stopped installing. Now I have this greyed out box with waiting on it and it never installs. I cant hold my finger on it and delete it as the cross doesn't appear, I cant move it to the last page and drop it off the screen either.

Is there a way t remove the application? Come to think of it I can't even remember the app it was.

Thank you.

Try this:

put your finger on an app that is fully loaded.
Wait until the apps start to "shiver"
Hit the X on the one that did not fully load.

It should ask if you want to delete it.

Alternatively, attach the device to you computer and do a sync. Once sync'd, remove the App from iTunes and resync.

Deleting Uninstalled App

The X wont appear on that app as it didnt install. From Itunes how do you delete an application? If it was as simple as selecting the app and dropping it into a recycle bin that would be great, but that would also be too easy.

If you know a way to delete the app from Itunes that would be helpful.

Thank you.

with iTunes running, select your device.
Select the Apps tab.
Remove the check mark from the app you want to delete
Sync.

Failing that, use the restore function to put your device back to the last successful sync state.
