Deleting the contents of my trash can ....

Aug 29, 2011 3:55AM PDT

My (Mac/ Snow Leopard)) trash can will not delete any of my files and folders (3.65 gb!) The process starts, either "unlocked items or remove all items ", makes no difference and after about 3-5 seconds the whole process stops. Tech-Tool Deluxe maintenance states: volume structure and file structure errors, which it cannot repair.... Once this problem has been solve I would like some advise on software that discovers duplicate files/folders and then deletes them. Any advise will be greatly appreciated...

Certainly not.

Once booted from the OS X installation disk, any version, you will notice that there is no menu bar at the top of the screen.

Move through the install process, slowly, until you see the menu bar appear.

From there, select Utilities and Disk utility.
Repair the disk.

Once finished, choose Quit Installer from the menu bar and reboot the machine
