Deleting Printer

May 31, 2005 11:17PM PDT

i have 3 computers in my office, all connect to a central server (in same office). I deleted a printer on the server, and it says "deleting" and been saying that for several days, it isnt gone yet. How do i make it fully delete?
Also, is there a way to remove printers that were automatically installed on a client after u unselect "control panel, folder options, view. under "file and folders" look for "automatically search for network folders
and printers".

thanks

Reboot

Sounds like the server's "stuck" and will probably need to be rebooted.

As for the second question, not that I'm aware of. Windows doesn't really do the whole centralization thing very well. Microsoft is still trying to figure out some of the lessons learned by Unix people decades ago. I'd just leave them be. They aren't going to hurt anything by being there. If someone tries to use one for some reason or another, they'll just get an error message. Then they call you, and you walk them through setting the default printer to something else.

I wonder if

you have to delete the networked printer from all the other computers as well, before the server can complete its task?
