Deleting Non Accessible Files

Jul 1, 2004 8:47PM PDT

How do I delete infected files that are in my restore\temp folder, that are non accessible or "may be being used" at the time. The three files are infected with the Trojan downloader small 6.1 virus.

My visus scanner cannot remove tehm either!

collyer, You must disable System Restore then restart your computer to get rid of those files. This purges all System Restore files. AV Programs can't remove them because Ststem Restore files are protected by Windows. After doing the above run another virus scan which should come up clean. You should then turn on System Restore again. I'm assuming you're using Windows ME or XP so the links below have instructions for disabling and enablink System Restore.
