If, after a few years, they have just been sitting there, (where?), doing nothing and have never been accessed, then it is likely you can recover the hard disk space they take up by deleting them. But we don't know what's in them, only you do.
A few years ago, I reinstalled Windows XP. After trying 4 times unsuccessfully, I reinstalled original video card and was then successful. However I now have 5 MY Backup files at 10+GB each. Is it safe to delete these files and how do I do it?
