deleting mail account

by E5man / November 17, 2011 1:17 AM PST

I have a dud G5 that will go on ebay for spares and need to remove all my emails and the account from it. I have tried reinstalling to default but it freezes so I cannot do that.
Anyone know how to delete my account?

Remove the Hard Drive

and ship it out without it.

As long as you specify that the machine is non-working and just for spares, you will be fine.

If the drive is functional, keep it and use it elsewhere, but if it is not functional, take it apart and destroy the shiny disk that you will find inside.

If you really want to ship it with the drive, boot the G5 from an OS X installation disk and format the disk

Thanks for this. I cannot reboot the machine as it freezes during installation.
I have dragged the mail icon to the trash bin and emptied it, would that get rid of my details?

OK. So how do I remove the hard drive? I see two small screws on the base to change memory but cannot see any way to get into the casing.

Do you see three screws on the bottom of the case?

If so, unscrew them. Just until they stop turning. They are captive screws.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
