Select 2 files (I make a .txt file then select it first) then delete both. This saves me from a safe mode boot, command line deletion and other things.
PS. If you are running P2P software it can lock said file.
I am using Win XP sp2. I I recently downloaded 2 files, 1 avi and 1 mp3 and now I am unable to delete these files. I keep getting the error message:
"Cannot delete file: Access denied. Make sure that the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use".
I also get the same message when I try to empty my recyle bin. All the files are deleted but I still get the message
"Cannot delete DE18: Access denied. Make sure that the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use".
I have been having this problem for the past few days and the only major change that I have made to the system during this period is that I have installed some software (mainly stuff from google - google desktop, talk etc...).
Can anyone please let me know what the problem could be.
Thanks a lot in advance.
