Deleting an e-mail account

I still have in my iCloud preferences my old email address...it is shown as "Primary." I just added my new email address and it is shown as "Verified." I find no way to edit these. I have been getting a question from iCloud for my password for my old e-address. Perhaps this will take care of the nuisance. If so, I have answered my own question... however, I am not receiving the same amount of mail as I used to and wonder if this might be the reason? I really would like to delete the old address as it has been cancelled through my server. I hope I have made myself clear. Thanks, Old Granny Lola
