Question

Deleting an Administrator.TEMP foldr

Jan 15, 2014 3:15AM PST

Under Documents and Settings I have the following folders: Administrator, All Users, Default User, Don1 (that's me), LocalService and NetworkService, which looks normal to me. However, there is an additional folder called "Administrator.TEMP" which first appeared about a month ago. I have no idea what I was doing at that time, so I have no idea how it was created. The folder Administrator includes 5 file folders and 2 files; Administrator.TEMP includes 13 file folders (most of which are empty) and 3 files. My question is: Can I delete Administrator.TEMP without causing a catastrophe or should I just ignore it?

Answer
Since you have backups, why worry?

Who said I had backups? What created this folder in the first place? What do you mean by "I can always boot any of the LIVE CDs and delete it there"?

Then the next step is to make a backup.

As to forensics I'm not the machine's owner and you can research that folder on duckduckgo or any search engine.

My advice is now:

1. Backup.
2. Use the old advice to boot and kill it.
