Deleting a review

Mar 12, 2011 8:23AM PST

How do I delete a review I put up on CNET? I put a review up for the wrong cell phone model before realising I got the model names mixed up. There appears to be no delete option.

You can report your own review...

Users cannot edit or delete their own posts/reviews, but you can report your own post with a request that it be edited/deleted by the respective moderator or staff member.

Hope this helps,
John

Thanks, yeah I thought that'd be the way. I did that, though there wasn't a relevant option to pick, so I selected type of offense as being "sexually explicit".

That works...

Just note that wile the forums are moderated by volunteers, the reviews are moderated by staff members, so you're less likely to receive a response on the weekend. I wouldn't expect the deletion until Monday.

John

Why?
Feb 24, 2013 2:02AM PST

Why can't users edit, or delete their own posts? Do your staff members really have time to deal with this? I asked that a review be removed quite some time ago. I just recently realized that it wasn't removed. I had made a mistake, and I didn't want the review to seem misleading. This reflects poorly on my ability to write a review.

You can edit and delete posts. Yes you can.

Before you post you can preview and then edit or cancel or post. So you can edit.

After you post in the forum and you don't like it, you can alert it and a moderator can remove it IF IT IS YOUR POST.

As to reviews, you can alert your post and so far, the folk that do that, have the time.

-> About your reviews. Some folk use Notepad to write the review then paste their finished work into the web page. Maybe that's your new method?
