With all due respect, ask if you could give anything but generic advice given what facts you supplied in your post?
1. Many USB things fail and my first response is to install the motherboard driver package and check the BIOS settings. http://www.usbman.com reiterates this.
2. Some camera software offers an uninstall. But before you exclaim that you may lose your pictures, remember that a hard disk is temporary storage. We only lose what we don't backup.
3. You may need to call the camera support line on how to really remove it so you can get a proper and new install.
I am not sure but I think I deleted a key file or application or something that allowed my computer to upload images from my camera to the computer. I no longer get the window that asks me what I want to do when I plug in the camera. Nothing happens. I periodically delete files that I think websites plant on my computer and unfortunately I may have totally messed things up. Does anyone know how I can get this working again without having to strip my computer back down to it's original data and lose everything? I tried system restore but when I do it tells me the restore is unsuccessful and I'm back to square one.
