deleted index page, uploaded new but old one still appears

I uploaded my site and was amazed when it worked first time. I then decided to change my index page to a new one. I deleted the old one using smartftp and uploaded the new one but the old one still shows up when you type the site address. When i type my site name followed by /index.html however, the new one appears.

Any help please? I have a diy host with no support and have no idea what to do.

Maybe you're seeing a chached file.

refresh if it doesn't work delete temprary internet files :)

to delete tomparary internet files :

internet explorer -- tools -- internet options -- in the middle in the temporary internet files -- click delete files ,,

another way :
start -- all programmes -- accecaries -- system tools -- disk clean up -- mark temporary internet files then click ok
