Question

Deleted firmware/operating system issue

Aug 23, 2015 8:46AM PDT

Hi, I'd be really grateful if somebody could help me with this!

I have an old iomega Screenplay HD media drive. Without thinking I formatted it, and in the process removed the firmware that makes it work as a media player.

I've tried looking on the Lenovo (seems they have taken over iomega or something) website but there are no recovery options available, only firmware updates, with are actioned from within the operating system itself, using the remote and the TV.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Thanks, but this doesn't work

When I plug the drive into the tv, there is no interface because I formatted it. It can't update itself

I checked JD's link and true

It can't update itself. It looks like it takes a PC with supported OSes and if that fails you're back to Lenovo support.
