"Delete" key on my Mac laptop

Nov 24, 2007 7:10AM PST

Hi. I read some instructions in HELP menu which gave me advice to "Press DELETE key". But I can not find this key on laptop. I know that I can simply drag the object to trash. But sometimes it's more simple just press one of keys, spcially when you are working with a lot of files and objects. I really missed it from my PC (wich I am still using). "DoubleCommand" application does not help. Please help me to find a solution. Thanks!

Delete Key

The Delete key on a MacBook is on the right hand side of the keyboard, directly underneath the F12 & Eject key.
It is marked, Delete.

Your problem cannot be that easy.

Is it?

If you want to trash one or more files, then
Nov 24, 2007 9:20AM PST

1) select the file by clicking on it once
2) press Command delete.

In Windows,
1) select the file by clicking on it once
2) press delete.

If you are saying this one difference is that big of a deal, then perhaps you should return the Mac and go back to Windows and traditional Windows manufacturers.

To boya84: Delete key

Thank you for your very kind third advice to go back to Windows!
All of my stupid questions was based on very simple missunderstanding of words DELETE (on Mac) and BACKSPACE (on Windows). I am a new user of Mac and I mean this is a wonderfull maskin (and Mac OS as well).

So, (for previosly Windows-users) this action should sounds like this:
1. Select the object.
2. Press Command+Backspace.
3. Forget about Windows (only on Leopard Happy)

fn Button

This goes for MacBook, MacBook Pro, iBok G4 or any Mac laptop, I think. To use the Delete button rather than Backspace, you hold down the fn (function) button and press Backspace. This irritates most PC users I've found, but you get used to it.
