Delete Data Question

Jul 16, 2007 10:49AM PDT

Hello out there. Kinda new to computers and have a question I hope someone can help with. When I have the My Documents window open and place the cursor in the address box and type any letter it automatically searches any file and http addresses beginning with that letter. Can I turn this feature off? I tried right cklicking a highlighted file and address to try and delete, but it did not work. I thought only your Internet browser stored http addresses. I cleared my browser data and cookies but that didn't work either. Some help please.

Just hide the address bar

I believe the only option is to hide the address bar. To do this, go to "View - Toolbars" and deselect the "Address bar". I think this is the only option. Otherwise, the address bar tries to return a best fit. Hope this helps.

in case newdude is confused why he should be adjusting Internet Explorer settings for a My Documents problem, the reason is that My Documents is a form of the general utility called "Windows Explorer", and Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer are closely linked in Windows in some areas.
