Unfortunately a free downgrade to XP is only provided in very limited circumstances, so you'd have to purchase a license to Windows XP yourself then perform a clean installation. It would not void the warranty on the laptop, but technical support would be limited as the OS is not officially supported on the hardware.
Hi, I'm looking at buying a laptop for the upcoming school year. I have found one but the description indicates Vista is loaded onto it already. I want to switch the operating system to XP so that my memory isn't used up. I am wondering if i can somehow switch the operating system without buying a new version of XP. Also if i do switch the operating system, im curious to if the warranty on the laptop would become void. Thank you to anyone who helps.
