I tried forever to defrag my computer and I went many months trying everything possible. Finally, I logged into my safe mode (I have windows '9Cool and when you first turn on your computer type the F8 key several times until you are in the safe mode. Then from there you can start your defrag. Mine starting working right away, but took quite a while since it was several months before this was done. After you defrag, just log out of windows and you can log back into regular mode. I hope this helps.

Good Luck
