Defragmenter Problems

I freely admit to being Computer Stupid..I need help please??? I have Windows ME and for whatever reason my defragmenter will no longer defragment. I am clueless. would be greatful for any reply. Please us small words and please do not use a lot of computer speak. Thank You

Will give this a try. Looks like a lot of stuff I could screw up but I'll give it a shot. If this dosen't work, I'm throwing the darn machine in the trash. Thanks so much, Sheila

Something else that will stop the defrag process is having your hard drive too full. You need approximately 20% free for the process to work properly.
