Defragging

Mar 22, 2004 1:17AM PST

Read all of the suggestions, and yes, I turn off the screensaver, virus programs, netzip download demon, netzip folders. Only program not turned off, date manager, weather icon. I ve tried it offline and online.
i have HP Model #843, ME2000,

Also, have the same problem with my scan disk. Both just run and run, all day and night, stay at 1%...Thanks for any and all help/suggestions. Brockness

And does really nothing else show up in list of running processes in msinfo32?

Once again, everyone.

i to am running windows ME and spent many frustrating moments with your same issues. my only cure was to start windows in safe-mode. this is accomplished by pressing the control button while computer is re/starting, and selecting safe-mode option. then go to accesories then system tools then perform the maintenance function you wish. after doing in this manner i never again had a problem. GOOD LUCK
