Please try running the "Error Checking/Chkdsk" program. The link below will help:

It might fix some of the problems that occurred.
If that doesn't get it, then you may want to use System Restore. Click on Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore. When the SR window loads, select the "Restore My Computer To An Earlier Time" option. When the calendar comes up, choose a day when the computer ran correctly, then follow the prompts to restore the computer.

i recently defraged my desktop, and after it finished i restarted my computer. since then my computer seems to be really choppy. the mouse skips across the screen instead of gliding across. all my programs run very choppy to. what may be the cause of this? everything worked just fine befor the defrag. help me out. thank you.
