Deficit at Record High With a Month Left

by RB2D2 / September 13, 2004 11:43 PM PDT

With one month to go in the 2004 federal budget year, the government recorded a deficit of $436.9 billion thus far, the Treasury Department reported Monday. That's 9 percent larger than the $400.5 billion shortfall for the corresponding period last year. From Oct. 1, 2003, through August, spending has totaled $2.11 trillion, up 5.9 percent from the same period a year ago. Revenues came to $1.67 trillion a 5.2 percent increase from a year ago.

Bush's spending is bad but it's nothing compared to what Kerry promises to spend...

Kerry can't spend without consent of the Republican controlled congress.

I think you've hit on a great Bush campaign slogan!

"Our guy is pretty darn bad, but your guy will probably be even worse!"

I like it!

Our guy

Don't include me in "our". I support Michael Badnarik. Since I know he won't win I work to keep Kerry out so you could really say I'm in the ABK crowd.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
