Yes. But it was a corrupt image that XP had an issue with and was not a card issue.
We nailed it by using a Windows 98 box and then offering the image to XP on CD. Explorer promptly locked up.
I've discussed this with a Microsofty and his response about corrupt images was "don't do that".
As such, I can't offer any cure.
What I would do is find another machine to get the images out and then format the card in the camera (you did do that?) and try again.

Has anyone had a problem with a compact flash where in the middle of transfering pictures from a reader to my win xp, the computer freezes up at exactly the same picture transfer everytime? I have tried to do this many times and it is always the same. I also tried to transfer a single picture by selecting one after the one that always hangs and the same thing happens with that one. The card is a PNY 512 card. It is brand new. Its the first time that I have tried to transfer photos with this card.
