Default Sizes for 'Appearance Items'

Jun 9, 2005 3:30AM PDT

I would like to know what the Windows98se default sizes are for the Active Title Bar, Active Window Border, Caption Buttons, Inactive Title Bar, Inactive Window Border, Menu, Palette Title, Scrollbar, and Selected Items which are found by going to Display Properties>Appearance>Item: The only default sizes I know for sure are the Icon, '32' and the Icon Spacing, both (Horizontal) and (Vertical), '43'. I have looked high and low on the Internet, the Microsoft Website, and in the Windows98se Help menu and I can't find this information anywhere. It seems like it should be easy to find as it's such a basic and important thing to know in case the overall appearance of the Windows screen gets thrown out of wack from customization of any one of, or combination of, these items.

just setup the way you like it, then save the profile - simple - then if things get lost you just reload that profile - I have 2, which I use depending on the screen resolution.

scheme and theme...

in "appearance", you can choose windows standard or other scheme that should be default sizes? not sure there. But control panel..themes..and just have appearance checkmarked will set defaults.
Otherwise Pete is saying that you can watch some changes in the appearance window as you select possible size changes and choose.
Note: easy way to display properties...right click anywhere on desktop, choose "properties".
