You may need to save your settings into the Normal.dot template. In a blank document make the changes you want then goto File > Save As, name it as Normal and then in the "Save As type" selection choose document template, (*.dot). This will replace your existing Normal.dot template.

In Microsoft 2007 office, I want the default to be no spacing between paragraphs.
In the paragraph formatting window, I check the "do not add spaces between paragraphs button," which solves the problem for the current document, and I hit the default button.
Despite the fact that I hit the default button, new documents are automatically set to add spaces between paragraphs. why is this?
