As you don't have outlook then you won't have this option.

default mail client

Thanks for the reply. Your site is awesome! I must be confused as to exactly what is a default mail client. I try to send a document from word and it pops up "no default mail client" and the directions to install this do not work on my program, Windows 7. How do I set it up in MS Word so I can utilize the "send to email?" I joined Windows live weeks ago but I still have this problem. Thanks

you have to download and install the windows live mail

it should register itself as the default mail client if there is no other mail on the pc.

It took me about 10 seconds to type in WINDOWS LIVE MAIL MENU BAR into google and click on the first hit to find out how to show it: http://zaveia.blogspot.com/2008/06/hidden-menu-bar-of-windows-live-mail.html.
Spending 45 minutes must be a world record ...

Anyway, using ALT to jump into the menubar is an age-old standard. It was already used 20 years ago by the Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet, and probably by Visicalc before that. And those keyboard shortcuts still work in Windows applications like MS Word. Try Alt-F-S (alt-file-save) to save the current document, for example. That's what the underlined characters F and S mean, in fact, to show the keyboard shortcut. You know, we didn't yet have a mouse back in the MS-DOS days.
