Default language for OUTLOOK

by Mark Mac / October 21, 2009 9:18 AM PDT

Try as I can, I am unable to change the default language for the MS OUTLOOK 2003 spell checker.

WORD is the default e-mail editor for OUTLOOK and my WORD has English(Australia) as my default language.

I do not want to move to the US so that my e-mail spelling is correct so your advice would be very welcome.

You live in Oz, your Word dictionary is set up with English(Australian), (I didn't know there was that much difference between English(UK) and English(Autralian)), as default.

So, what do you want to set it to? English(US)?

What happens when you try to change it? Any error messages?

Did you follow the steps stated in this article?

I left something out

In reply to: Confused.

I live in Oz and I want the spell checker in BOTH WORD and OUTLOOK to use the Australian dictionary/language. I have been successful in WORD, but not OUTLOOK.

But now when I went to check if any messages appear, OUTLOOK is now magically using the Australian dictionary/language.

Maybe with the last lot of fiddling, I did and a reboot has made it all come good (thanks Bill).

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the help.
