General discussion

Decsion time, for me it comes down to games and time.

Jul 6, 2007 12:15AM PDT

Well, in about a week or a week an a half, I'll be picking up either my 360 Elite, or PS3. Now I know I've posted this on here before, but that was awhile ago, and things have changed. FOr me, it's going to come down to games, and their relase dates, plus online play. To start off with the 360, I love the graphics, new HDMI port, and games. The ones I really like are Lost PLanet, Ghost Recon 1, and 2, Halo 3. The cons for me on this are the Xbox live, which for me would cost an extra $200 for the gold 12 month, 4000 pts, and wireless reciever.

Now, on the PS3, I like the six axis controller, Blu Ray Hi Def player, HDMI port, web browser, etc. Plus, online is free with the built in wifi. The games being Ghost Recon 2, Uncharted Drakes Forutune, plus all the 180 games to be relased next year here in the US. Now, my questions are: Do the PS3's crash as much as the 360's, meaning their fail rate where they have to be replaced.
During the Holiday season, is it trure they will relase a new PS3 with rumble feature, and a bigger HD. And, are these games worth the wait.

treemen

ps: To those who have been reading my other posts on me buying a new laptop or desktop, I can not this year, as it will cost too much, and I have other things to buy right now that I want or need more than a new computer.

If you decide to get a PS3, wait until July 12th. That's the date that they are dropping the price by $100.

PS3 Failure rates and rumble
Jul 6, 2007 12:55AM PDT

I own neither system right now because I don't currently have an HDTV.

I've always been a Sony fanboy and likely will purchase a PS3 whenever my standard definition 36" TV dies.

But if I were buying a system right now, I would strongly consider the 360 over the PS3 just because of the games that are currently available for it over the slim pickings currently available for the PS3.

In answer to your questions:
-From reading about failure rates, the failure rates of the PS3 don't seem to be anywhere close to as high as that of the 360.
-Sony recently settled their dispute with the holder of the patent on rumble controllers. I don't think that they've made an official announcement concerning when they will come out with rumble controllers for the PS3, but since they settled their dispute, common sense says that at some point in the next year or so they will release new rumble controllers.
