Pioneer Elite Kuro is the BEST tv you can get right now.. For gaming hours that is fine, it is when one plays like 8+ hours a day none stop you may get temporary image retention.
Just 2 things
1) use the tv for about 100 hours before you play any games.. plasmas have a break in time. Also turned down the contrast & brightness for that 100 hours, that is also part of the break in prosses. So keep away from fixed screen stuff for the 1st 100 hours, some people use the zoom to cut off channel logos & craws on news channels for that short time.
2) after the 100 hours calibrate the tv & you then can play some games & injoy
So Im deciding on a tv that I should get. My wife and are thinking to just go all out and get a good tv that will last for a good amount of time. I am also though a gamer in that I have a xbox 360 and am looking at getting a PS3 sometime (mainly for Blu-Ray). The two tvs that I am looking at is the Samsung LCD 9 Series LN46A950 and the Pioneer Elite Kuro PRO-111FD. Again were looking for quality here. Now I know some say that Plasma is going away and that LCD is a better choice. However, the main thing I am concerned about is that I am a gamer. Now I will say Im not one who spends 4+ hrs a DAY playing (although SOMETIMES I do..but again very rarely), but rather, and Im taking a guess here and maybe extending the hrs but maybe (on a good week) 7-10 hrs a WEEK playing. I mainly play FPS (First Person Shooters) and platformers/action/adventure...anyways you get the point...my main genre is FPS.
What my question is, is will the Pioneer have burn in? Which would be better overall for movies and games? What would be some pros and cons of either? Because I would hate to get like a Plasma and then basically ruin it by playing games and having burn-in. Any help here would be great. Any thing else I might have missed please let me know. Thanks again for listening to my long and arduous post and replying! ![]()
