The writer's account of his "strange encounters" with animals was, IMO, well written, and made me grin. especially the part about "Was this the Apocalypse?" Although without mounts, 4 horses running in one lame as if controlled by some unseen force must have given pause, however momentary.. ![]()

In my life I have had some strange encounters with animals, such as a flaming duck exploding through the doors of my woodstove and circling the room in a rapid holding pattern, or the time a rhesus monkey grabbed the steering wheel of my Vista Cruiser station wagon while crossing the Bay Bridge. last Saturdays experience was right up there.
After passing the School going north on New street as I crested the hill a startling sight appeared in the distance. Was this the Apocalypse? Four horses in full gallop were approaching (staying in their lane) followed by a red faced man in a white truck.
Well, I was frozen "With what the Heck" as I held my vehical at a full stop in front of the Church, as they passed and disappeared over the hill into the sunset. I had to wonder how could you beat that for a live show?
Hoping that this story had a happy ending, I know for sure the horses were having a blast.

This Letter to the editor was taken from my local paper which we refer to as "Horse S--- News" I don't know what his gripe was, because there are a lot of horses in town here. They out number the Cows 10 to 1
